Jasper Image

Located in the rugged landscape of Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Marmot Basin is as unpretentious as it is pristine. Overlooking breathtaking mountain vistas, you will find the 1,675 acres, 86 runs and 3,000 vertical feet of varied terrain that make up Marmot Basin %u2013 the highest base elevation of all Canadian ski areas. Marmot's trails are split equally between easy, intermediate and advanced, making this an ideal destination for skiers and boarders of all abilities. There are 4 distinct areas of the mountain that are laid out in a very user friendly way, so going from steep alpine bowls to bumps to cruising through glades is just a chairlift or two away. LONGER- The Canadian Rockies Express high speed quad chairlift is 2.3 km long, has a vertical rise of 596 meters (1,955 ft) and provides a 4 km nonstop run! All ability levels can ride the new high speed quad chair and find a run from the top to suit their skill level. HIGHER- Ride the Canadian Rockies Express uninterrupted from the base of the ski area to the top of the upper mountain. FASTER! - With a line speed of 5.08 metres per second, the new lift will whisk skiers and snowboarders up 2.3 kilometres (1.5 miles) in 7.5 minutes. BETTER SNOW COVERAGE! Marmot Basin has added permanent snow fencing to the upper triple area and leveled the triple access and beginner area at the base of the mountain to allow easier access to our lifts. NO LIFT LINES %u2013 MORE SLOPE TIME - With two high speed lifts from the base area, the lift system will carry up to 4,800 skiers per hour out of the lower mountain. Marmot's carrying capacity to skier visit ratio is one of the highest anywhere meaning line ups will be all but non-existent and time spent skiing and boarding on the slopes will be maximized. MORE OPEN SLOPE SKIING in the upper area with the removal of the Kiefer T-Bar and the addition of the Canadian Rockies Express we have named two new runs Wipe out and Escalator.
